The sample pack, whole

Oakfield Community Church is invented — the church, the people and every detail below exist only for this sample. A real order is rebuilt from your own files the same way.

What the office sent (437 words, shortened here)

“Bulletin is half-letter, folded, 4 pages, from one Publisher file started in 2011; file won’t open since October. Attaching last week’s PDF and photos of the printed copy. Front: name, sketch of the building (our own drawing), service time 10:00, address and phone. Inside left: Order of Worship — Prelude, Welcome & Announcements, Opening Hymn, Scripture Reading, Message, Hymn of Response, Offering, Doxology, Benediction. Hymn numbers change weekly, from the red hymnal. Inside right: announcements, exactly as written each week by the office. Back: This Week at Oakfield (calendar), nursery rota, giving line, ‘CCLI #2748315’ must stay in the corner. Keep the typeface churchy but readable for older members. The pastor’s name is J. Whitfield. Newsletter goes out quarterly, one page, same look. Esther does the Thursday edit; she is comfortable in Word only.”

Oakfield Community Church
Sunday, November 1 · 10:00 AM · [their own building drawing]

  • Prelude
  • Welcome & AnnouncementsPastor J. Whitfield
  • Opening Hymn — “[as the office lists it]”No. [423]
  • Scripture Reading — [as supplied]
  • MessagePastor J. Whitfield
  • Hymn of ResponseNo. [—]
  • Offering & Doxology
  • Benediction

Inside right carries the announcements exactly as the office writes them; the back page keeps This Week at Oakfield, the nursery rota, the giving line and the CCLI number in the corner, as instructed. Bracketed [slots] are the Thursday fields — everything else is standing text.

2 · The newsletter template (one page, same look)

Masthead “The Oakfield Letter · Quarterly”, two text columns in the office’s own words, the same footer line and CCLI corner. Nothing pre-written: every column is a labelled slot for the office’s text.

3 · The update sheet (excerpt)
  • Open bulletin.docx. Press Ctrl+H. Type last week’s hymn number, then this week’s. Replace All.
  • Click the announcements block (inside right). Type over last week’s text. Don’t touch the grey standing text.
  • File → Print. Choose “Flip on short edge”. Print 1 test copy, fold, check the back page is upright, then print the run.
4 · The tidy list & numbered questions (excerpt)

Kept: every section in its 2011 order; the building drawing; the CCLI corner. Left out, flagged: a clip-art dove on the old back page (not the church’s own image — slot left empty, see Q2). Questions: 1. The PDF shows 9:30 but the notes say 10:00 — which prints? 2. The dove graphic isn’t yours to reuse — replace with your drawing, or leave the corner empty? 3. Should the nursery rota list names or just “see sign-up sheet”?
